Communication skills have always been important, but within the accounting and finance professions they have not been at the forefront of training efforts. These professionals have traditionally focused their professional development on technical skills and specific courses required to maintain whatever certifications they may have. This has changed dramatically in the past few years as CFOs and boards of directors have become more vocal about the importance of being a good communicator.
I will be presenting a half-day training class called Effective Communication Skills For Financial Professionals at the upcoming AFP Annual Conference. The session is on Sunday, November 2 from 8:00 a.m. to Noon and it is approved for 4.5 CTP Career Development Credits, 4.5 FP&A Credits, and 4.5 CPE Credits. You can still register on the AFP website at http://an14.afponline.org/PreCon/#com.
